A special Monday email coming your way to celebrate the first week of March.
I started the month/friend poem series in April of last year, not knowing it would be a series at all. The April poem was so fun to write and so many of you seemed to love reading it that I was inspired to keep going…and just got to the end of the series with March.
If you want to see the full series, they’re all posted on my instagram (@hannahrowrites) or if you’re not on social media, drop a note below and I can send the series your way.
If the month of March
was your friend
She’d be the one that everyone called their best.
She was loving, kind, the type of person who
you felt comfortable doing nothing with but
always ended up on adventures together wherever
you went. You’d visit her for the weekend and
experience a whole month in only a few days–
a karaoke bar in your pajamas, tapas on a rooftop,
renting bikes for a ride along the river, sitting at a
coffee shop to talk, laughing until you were both
in tears. She was fancy and laid-back, intense and
easygoing. You’d always have the most fun with
her and yet, it wasn’t what you did together that you
loved the most. It was, trite as it sounds, how she
made you feel. Love you like a sister, March would say,
and you’d know, you’d really know, that she did.
People have asked if the month/friend poems will be included in my upcoming book—they will not be. There are over 100 poems in the book and almost all of them are new…BUT
if you like the Month/Friend poems because they:
Make ordinary things feel magical
Blur the lines between humans and nature
Celebrate friendship
Help you to appreciate the different kinds of people in your life
…then there are so many poems in Same that I cannot wait for you to read. This book is for you.
Hugs and welcome, March,
Hannah
Same comes out in October 2025 which feels far away, but the very best way to support a new author and help a book to soar is to pre-order it!
