Part 7: BOOK ANNOUNCEMENT!

Introducing my book (!!!!!)

Dear friends,

I am so excited to announce that today, my book Same is available for pre-order!

I couldn’t wait to share this news with you because you all have been such an important part of my journey. You have read my poems, shared them with friends, sent me the most wonderful messages, bought my prints, encouraged me to write a book. Without you, Same wouldn’t exist.

I started my blog HannahRoWrites in 2020, and writing a book has been an absolute dream of mine ever since (even before!). The book, published by St. Martin’s Press/Macmillan in the U.S. and Canada and HarperCollins in the UK and rest of world (more on that soon!), is a collection of poems grouped by relationships – poems for our younger selves, our friends, our family, the ones we date and marry, our bodies, our minds and our children. Almost all of the poems in the book are new! And I guarantee if you like the poetry I post on the internet, you will love this book.

Same comes out in October 2025 and just was announced for pre-sale today.

I did not know anything about pre-sales before writing this book, but I have learned that they are a very important part of a book’s potential success. All pre-sales count toward the first week of sales for the book and that determines a lot of things (like how many books retailers order, any bestseller lists, etc. etc.). So I am humbly asking you, beloved community, to consider one or more of the following:

1. Pre-order the book! Buy a copy for yourself! I will be forever grateful and give you the biggest hug when we hopefully meet sometime in person (another reason to pre-order is that it lets my publisher know that people are excited about the book, which could lead to some fun in person events in the fall!)

2. Pre-order the book to gift to someone else! There are poems for so many types of relationships and people in this book. Friends, mothers, daughters, sisters, partners, children, aunts, cousins, ourselves…to name a few.

3. Tell someone about the book! Word of mouth is SO important and you are the best people to spread the word!

4. Request the book from your local bookstore–I LOVE independent bookstores and the beautiful spaces they provide for communities. The idea of supporting them makes my heart happy. Asking for them to order for you is so helpful and lets the store know they should stock copies!

5. Request the book from your local library

6. If you have a Goodreads account, add it to your “want to read shelf.”
