Happy July, all. Including a July poem below plus my summer bucket list.
Summer Bucket List
Swim in at least four different bodies of water (oceans, lakes, pools included)
Dance in a grassy field at an outdoor concert (check)
Bike every day on family vacation (thank you, Mom, who always makes sure we each have a rented bike and who reads this newsletter)
FINISH a paper book (only have listened to audio books since the birth of my daughter and I am on a mission)…currently reading Dominoes by Phoebe McIntosh
Drink a cup of coffee in silence on our porch once a week
Reinstate my nightly “house” walks. I started this a few years ago and then haven’t done them since having a baby and just started again. I know this will seem like a weird way to spend time, but hear me out. The last thing I do before bed (after dinner, clean up, etc), is put headphones on and listen to either an audio book or a podcast while walking in circles around the house for anywhere from 10-45 minutes. Movement always makes me feel calm and centered, and I now look forward to that time every day. Currently listening to Elin Hildebrand’s last novel (TEARS because her books make me so happy)….Swan Song.
Wishing you a happy July and a bucket list that will bring you small joys and great peace,
Hannah
I'm very curious about your house walks! If you don't mind answering: do you tend to tidy or anything while doing them, or is it strictly walking/listening to your audio? And by circles, do you mean around a single room at a time, or just through the whole house repeatedly? (I have no expectations for the answers, I'm just very intrigued)
